So I haven't updated for while because the last few days the internet has been caveman like and the french keyboards are really confusing. Sorry for any typos.
Friday was our last day in Interlaken. This was our favorite city so it was tough to leave.
We took the two hour train to Luzern and headed for our hostel. Unfortunately we couldn't check in so this was a bummer because we were early. So, we jumped on a 90 minute yacht and headed for the base of Mount Pilatus.
Once there, we took the steepest cog rail train to the top of the mountain at 7,000 feet. Once at the top, It was really cold and I forgot my hoodie so I mainly coughed and shiffered. We went down the mountain on the opposite side on the gondola. We didn't do much for the rest of the night. When we went to bed, our roommate tom snored louder than a bear. I couldn't believe it.
The next morning we left for Geneva, Switzerland. Once there, we found out that CERN, the lab dan wanted to see was closed on Saturday so we had nothing do. The hostel wasn't to nice either. No kitchen, bad roommates and expensive internet made our one night stay in geneva bad one.
The next morning we took the train to Lyon, France. We had to walk a long 2 miles to our hostel. The last leg was up a very steep hill that nearly drained us. Once in the hostel, the view was terrific as we had a yard to sit in with a panoramic view of Lyon.
On Monday, we walked around Lyon though most things were closed as Monday is a quiet day in this town. We still had tons of fun.
This morning we geared up and left for the train station. Around 3PM we arrived in the beautiful Nice, France.
Tonight we haven't done much except lay on the beach as our hostel is only 2 blocks from the beach=)
I should be updatting this on Friday when we get to Paris.

ReplyDeleteit's tyler. I've been following the phils as much as I can, which is little. I read about the replacement and how ibanez hit two homers. Glad to get romero back.
I've taken about 600 pictures so far and we both expect to bring money back so there is no worry there. And yes dan and I have discussed the father son dinner and are gonna go
What an exciting time to be in Paris. Sadly, you will be there while the investigation is ongoing about the crash of the airplane from Brasil. Very very sad. On a happier note, you will be there at the same time as the Obama's after his speech in Cairo. I hope you get a chance to see it and then get a chance to talk to some of the French people to get their thoughts. I thought it was great. The beach picture from Nice was really pretty. Hope you got to swim and enjoy the scenery.

Hey - I just read the comment by wizz 1555, who ever that is. Yes, I did enjoy the beaches on the French Riviera. Particularly the openness and honesty of everybody there.Much more wholesome than the norm.
ReplyDeletePop Pop
hey poppop-
ReplyDelete'Wiz' is T2. And I'm sure you enjoyed the beaches there. The city is great too. I was in my hostel when I heard the unfortunate news about AirFrance 447 and I saw reports about Obamas speech in Cairo and I knew he was in Germany but did not know he is going to Paris.
Also the french open is going on in paris as well which is one the biggest tennis tournaments. Cool to watch it on tv and be in the same town
